CHICAGO, Illinois – Provisur® Technologies, Inc., a leading global provider of high performance food processing equipment, announced today that it has opened a new, state-of-the-art Ingenuity Center in Mokena, IL dedicated to the ever-evolving demands of the industry. In addition to serving as a hands-on, cutting-edge resource for food processors, the facility will enhance Provisur’s own capabilities.
With this new facility, Provisur has added 20,000 square feet of technology and innovation space where food industry customers can create new products and take advantage of the latest and most cost-effective processing technologies. Now open after two years of planning and construction, the Provisur Ingenuity Center includes a comprehensive food lab, new product and ideation areas and a processing floor.
“As its name suggests, the Provisur Ingenuity Center offers a place for innovation with the ultimate objective to create value for our customers and in turn, their customers,” said Mel Cohen, Chief Executive Officer and President of Provisur Technologies. “We want to help our industry develop sustainable technologies to run efficient operations and create better products at a lower cost.”
According to Cohen, the Provisur Ingenuity Center is designed to allow processors to develop new products, refine existing products and test processes ranging from separating and grinding to forming, coating and cooking to slicing, autoloading and freezing. As they make decisions about investing in new systems, for example, visitors can view and test machines or complete systems in a production-like environment and take part in training programs covering topics like operations, maintenance and hygiene. Seminars on product development and machine operations are also offered on site.
From an R&D perspective, processors can use the Ingenuity Center to develop and test new products and concepts using the industry’s newest equipment. They can also conduct a range of product evaluations in the facility’s food lab and test kitchens.
The Provisur Ingenuity Center will be staffed by the company’s team of equipment and application experts, who will provide training programs, lead seminars and answer processors’ questions.
